Course Summary
This qualification is not just about being able to play sport; it provides skills, knowledge and understanding to progress into Higher Education or employment in areas such as Sport and Physical Education, Sports Science, Sports Coaching and Development or Sport and Leisure Management.
Course Details
OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Extended Certificate in Sport & Physical Activity (1 A level, 360 GLH)
6 single lessons per week
3 Mandatory units (2 external exams included) plus a choice of 2 optional units
Mandatory Units:
Unit 1: Body Systems and the effects of physical activity (External exam - 90 GLH)
Unit 2: Sports coaching and leadership (Internally assessed - 90 GLH)
Unit 3: Sports organisation and development (External exam - 60GLH)
Optional units include:
Sport and exercise psychology,
Sports injuries and Rehabilitation.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
The Cambridge Technical in Sport is exam-free so suits all learning styles. There is no external assessment and includes hands-on practical experience based upon real life scenarios.
