Course Summary
The course has a refreshing and exciting content, which is up to date, engaging and suitable for the needs of our students. Our course is particularly suitable for those wishing to move into Higher Education, apprenticeship or employment.
The course combines external examinations with research and coursework. Studying this course develops interpersonal skills and independence and covers a range of topics useful for working in the Health and Social Care sector and beyond.
Course Details
AAQ - 1 full A level over 2 years - 6 units
This course is run over 2 years and is the equivalent of one A Level.
It will be delivered over 6 lessons per week and will cover 3 external examinations and 3 pieces of coursework.
The coursework will consist of 1 mandatory unit – Building Positive Relationships in Health and Social Care and 2 more options which are currently Supporting People with Mental Health Conditions and Public Health.
Examination units throughout the two years consist of Equality, Diversity and Rights in Health and Social Care, Anatomy and Physiology and Health and Safety.

Entry requirements
To join BG6, you must achieve four or more GCSE grades 4 or above. These must include a minimum GCSE grade 4 in English Language, Literature or Mathematics and also meet the specific subject entry requirements for courses you are interested in.
