Course Details

To get the qualification, you will need to:

Attend meetings or study sessions with the course advisor, tutor, or assessor
Do personal study like reading on your own and completing assignments

The main topics covered are:

Learning experiences with young children
How young children grow and develop
Healthy living

Please note, this course is ran by the Childcare and Health Department. When you are invited to attend an interview this will be with staff from either the Childcare or the Healthcare department.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

To achieve the unit you must provide evidence to meet all of the assessment criteria. CACHE Learner Achievement Log records your progress in achieving the assessment criteria and completing the units.

Entry requirements

Two GCSEs at grade 2 or above, including English Language or a full qualification in a relevant subject at Entry Level and Level 1 Functional Skills in English and Maths.

Equipment required

CACHE core text book, a willingness to travel to your placements (this may on occasion involve two bus journeys), stationery, a College polo shirt for work placement
