Course Summary

This course is perfect if you have a keen interest in and a real flair for the application of make-up.

You will learn the specific advanced skills which will be of particular interest if you wish to enter the film and TV industry as a Make-up Artist.

Makeup artists have the freedom to be as creative as they want. You can choose what you want to specialize in. Weddings and special occasions, photo shoots, TV and movie productions, the options are endless. Each model is a fresh new canvas that allows you to express yourself as an artist

This course is aimed at those students who have a keen interest and a real flair in the application of make-up. This course is perfect if you’ve developed some make up application skills and want to get the qualifications you need for a career as a professional make up artist, providing services within the media, fashion and photographic industries.

Course Details

You will learn specific advanced skills which will be of particular interest to those wishing to enter the film and TV industry as a make-up artist.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Continuous practical assessments both on and off the job.

Oral and written questions related to practical work.

A portfolio of evidence showcasing your skills and creativity.

Entry requirements

Successful completion of a Level 2 Beauty Diploma (or equivalent).

Submit a completed work placement proposal form (provided at interview).

Provide contact details for five potential clients.

GCSE grade 4 English Language and Maths is desirable.

Equipment required

You will be required to purchase a uniform, fashion and photographic and media make-up kit. All kits are compulsory to attend the course and achieve the qualification. Further information will be provided on interview.
