Course Details

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Assessments include practical salon-based tasks, written assignments, online tests and oral questioning. Students also build a portfolio showcasing their skills and client work.

Entry requirements

Successful completion of a Level 2 Hairdressing Diploma (or equivalent).

Submit a completed work placement proposal Form (provided at interview).

Provide contact details for five potential clients.

GCSE grade 4 English Language and Maths is desirable

Equipment required

You will be required to purchase a uniform and kit. All kits are compulsory to attend and achieve the qualification. Further information will be provided at interview. You will also need stationery.

Your next steps...

After Level 3 Hairdressing, you can progress to salon management, become a senior stylist, start your own business, or move into teaching or assessing. You can also pursue higher education like a Level 4 qualification or a foundation degree in salon management or hair science.
