Course Summary
This Level 1 course will suit you if you are a school leaver or thinking about working in the automotive sector and want to learn more about potential careers in this area. You’ll learn the basic skills repairing or refinishing any type of vehicle to develop a career in the automotive industry and you will build up your skills in vehicle body repair, when you can then move onto more advanced qualifications or employment.

This course is ideal for anyone wanting a strong introduction to the specialist role of automotive technician. You might also be looking to gain the core skills you need to progress on to a further course or an apprenticeship.
You will choose 10 units from a range, totalling 45 credits. Some examples of the units available include:
- Vehicle fuel and exhaust systems
- Vehicle spark ignition systems
- Vehicle electrical systems
- Vehicle hand skills and manufacturing
- Vehicle transmission systems
- Vehicle steering and suspension systems
