Art & Design Level 1

This course is a general introduction to the exciting creative industries. On the course you will participate in a wide range of workshops and projects on areas such as Photography, Fashion, 3D art, Mixed Media and Animation and Graphics.

This course allows you the opportunity to meet and work with artists and designers and gain and understanding of the types of jobs available in the industry.

Units covered:

• Visual language through drawing, painting, ceramics, textiles
• Techniques and technologies including print and digital software
• You will also have a choice of optional units and units which form a final major project.

Assessment is continuous throughout the course by the tutor.

This introductory course is suitable for beginners. School leavers should aim for at least 4 GCSEs at Grades G/Grade 1 or above.

Interview with specialist tutor where candidates will be requires to show a portfolio of work and display their enthusiasm and commitment to the course.

Candidates may wish to progress onto Level 2 Art & Design or First Diploma in Music Technology. Career opportunities include Graphic Designer, Photographer, Events Management and Interior or Product Design.
