Course Details

You’ll learn about important topics like sustainability, ethics, customer care and business management, along with specialised modules on:

Animal Management and Behaviour

Animal Biology and Welfare

Animal Behaviour and Training

Health and Disease

Nutrition and Feeding

Plus, you’ll get hands-on experience with a 45-day industry placement!

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Over the two years, you will be required to complete three exams, an employer set project and a synoptic assessment.

In addition, you must complete an industry placement, lasting a minimum of 315 hours.

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at grade 5 or above including English Language, Maths and Science.

Equipment required

You will be required to wear a standard uniform and also PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) for practical work. This will be steel toe capped boots and overalls.
