Public Services L3

This course is designed to prepare you for a career within a Uniformed Public Service Organisation.

It will be of particular interest for those who wish to pursue a career in the Police, Fire, Ambulance and Prison or Security Services as well as the Armed Services (Army, Navy and RAF), HM Customs and Excise and other emergency related organisations.

Health and Fitness

Leadership and Teamwork

Communications and Technology

Expedition Skills

Major Incidents

Discipline and Human Behaviour

Crime and its’ Effects

On this course you will also get the opportunity to complete your Emergency First Aid qualification and One Star British Canoe Union Award.

A variety of assessment methods will be used including written assignments, oral presentations, practical activities and demonstrations, posters, leaflets and an externally set Integrated Vocational Assignment.

An advanced course suitable for those with at least 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C, or grades 9-4 which should include Maths & English or a relevant Level 2 qualification at merit or above or relevant work experience.

Candidates will also require a satisfactory reference from their school or current tutor.

On successful completion of the programme you may be able to progress to university or seek employment in the RAF, Police Force, Royal Navy or Fire & Rescue Service.

You will be supported throughout the course in applying for these positions.
