Course Summary
This course is highly practical and allows you to develop skills in musical theatre, dance and acting. This will give you the best chance of progressing to Higher Education, professional training or a career in the performing arts.
During the course, you will develop your communication skills, self-confidence and understanding of different types of theatre and performance, as well as studying a variety of acting, singing or dance, whilst working as part of a committed and creative team.

How will it be delivered and assessed?
You will be assessed through coursework and practical demonstrations such as performances in several public shows, as well as private class assessments throughout the year. Public performances will take place in the evenings.
Entry requirements
- Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English Language and Maths. Plus, relevant experience and a successful audition.
- OR successfully completed the Level 2 Performing Arts qualification and have demonstrated a commitment to the core programme and any relevant GCSE resits.

On completion of the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing and Production Arts, you will gain the knowledge, skills and understanding to progress to degree level study or employment in the performing arts industry.
The qualification attracts 72, 120 and 168 UCAS tariff points for Pass, Merit and Distinction grades respectively, which is equivalent to three A Levels.
You may want to progress to Higher Education courses with postgraduate study in a range of specialist areas such as teaching, directing, events management and drama therapy.
This course could form the successful foundations of a career in acting. You could work as:
An actor in a range of entertainment industries
In touring and producing theatre companies
A performer in theatre, film, TV, video, radio, street entertainments or theatre
In education
A holiday or cruise ship entertainer
A director
A teacher
Voice over artist or specialising in areas such as voice/dialect coach, stage combat and drama therapy
