Course Details

A BTEC in Health and Social Care is the ideal choice for anyone wishing to pursue a career in a health or social care setting. This course will provide students with a national vocationally specific qualification recognised by both employers and universities. Many of our former students have gone onto undertake degrees in nursing, teaching, social care, probation, psychology and criminology to name but a few, whilst some have moved into jobs as the course will prepare them for any future career in Health and Social Care or any related career that involves working with people. It contributes towards part of your programme of study, allowing for other A levels or vocational courses to be studied at the same time.

The course aims to provide an enriched learning experience that develops skills and qualifications for employment.

In addition to this, students will have an opportunity to visit local health and social care providers as part of the course. All students will also get the opportunity to attend work experience in the health and social care sector as part of their sixth form experience.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Students must complete three mandatory units and one optional unit. The optional unit will be decided based on the needs of the cohort.

Entry requirements

Merit in Level 2 Health and Social Care if studied. Grade 4 in English Language.
