This highly supported course is for learners who want to further develop their independence into adulthood. You will gain confidence, personal and social skills, in addition to gaining skills and experience that could help you to progress towards further study or supported employment.

Your programme of study will concentrate on improving and developing:

Personal Relationships in Adulthood

Safeguarding self in Adulthood

Rights and Responsibilities

Community Participation including travel skills

Independent Living Skills

Social and Personal Skills

Work-related activities

English and Maths

On assessment of work readiness, there may be opportunities for work experience that would develop skills towards sustainable employment.


How will it be delivered and assessed?

By portfolio building, practical activities and production of work.

For English and Maths, you may complete controlled assessments and/or external tests, depending on your level.

There may be the possibility to progress on to our FLEX VOTE programme which is designed to give you an opportunity of studying at higher levels for personal and social skills, employability skills, Maths, English and Digital Functional Skills and will also give you vocational options and tasters. Alternatively, for learners who aspire towards employment outcomes, there may be opportunities to progress onto a Supported Internship such as Get SET, Preparation for Work or a Project SEARCH programme.
