YEAR 12 Paper 1 – Love Through the Ages Section A Shakespeare: one passage-based question with linked essay (25 marks) Section B Unseen poetry: compulsory essay question on two unseen poems
(25 marks) Section C Comparing texts: one essay question linking two texts (one pre and one post 1900 text including an anthology of love poetry)
(25 marks) Paper 2 - Texts in shared contexts - Modern times:
Literature from 1945 to the present day- A Streetcar Named Desire
YEAR 13 Paper 2 Section A Set texts. One essay question on set text (25 marks).
Modern times: literature from 1945 to the present day.
Study of three texts: one prose, one poetry, and one drama, of which one must be written post-2000 Section B
Contextual linking.
One compulsory question on an unseen extract (25 marks).
One essay question linking two texts (25 marks)
None-exam assessment: independent critical study; texts across time.
Comparative critical study of two texts, at least one of which must have been written pre-1900

Entry requirements
Minimum requirements for admission to the Sixth Form:
- A grade 5 in Mathematics, with a 6 preferred.
- A grade 5 in English Language or English Literature, with a 6 preferred.
- Achieving at least 3 other GCSEs at grade 6 or above.
- Grade 6 in English Literature
