Course Details


Devising - You will create and perform an original piece of theatre to a specific target audience.

Theatre Makers in Practice - The opportunity to see live theatre and develop your evaluative skills. You will explore a text as a theatre maker and understand how theatre can be reimagined.

Text in performance - A performance of a monologue or duologue, as well as a group performance.


How will it be delivered and assessed?

Component 1 Devising : Internally assessed through performance and portfolio. 40 % of total A Level.

Component 2 Text in Performance: Externally assessed through a group performance (36 marks) and a monologue/ duologue (24 marks). 20% of total A Level

Component 3 : 2 hr 30 minute written exam comprising 4 extended response questions.

Entry requirements

Minimum requirements for admission to the Sixth Form:

A grade 5 in Mathematics

A grade 5 in English Language or English Literature

Achieving at least 3 other GCSEs at grade 6 or above.

Subject specific requirement:

Grade 6 or Merit in a related GCSE or equivalent, or evidence of performance if not studied at GCSE
