Course Summary

This ESOL course supports non-native English speakers aged 16-18 improve their English and Maths skills, while also offering other subjects to guide future career choices. The flexible course is tailored to individual needs, preparing students for further education or employment. Gain confidence, make everyday life easier and meet others new to the UK.

Course Details

You will be able to:

  • Develop your English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
  • Develop your Maths skills and understand how to use them in everyday life.
  • Choose a different subject area that interests you.

There are different parts to the course. Each week you will study:

  • ESOL
  • Maths
  • An alternative subject such as Business

You will also be able to take part in:

  • Group work and discussion
  • Self-Organised Learning Environments (SOLE)
  • Activities across College

How will it be delivered and assessed?

You will be assessed throughout this course.

Entry requirements

  • You will need to be between the ages of 16-18 years old
  • There are no formal requirements for this course.
  • Students will normally take part in an interview prior to being enrolled on the programme.

Equipment required

Stationery such as pens, paper and a ring binder.
