Our BTEC Level 3 Creative Media (Digital Film and Video) qualification is available as a number of options. Your choice will depend on your future career plans.
This qualification supports a huge range of careers in the creative media industry, and progression to degree level study.

This course will open up a world of opportunity for you. With options to specialise in areas such as editing or single camera techniques, you can choose a specialism relating to your chosen career.
The Extended Certificate is a one A Level equivalent, and if you would like Creative Media to form more of your study programme, consider the 2 or 3 A Level equivalents.
Your topics will see you preparing for further study or employment and give you a wide and comprehensive understanding of the creative industries, and develop the skills you need to succeed. Topics will include:
• Video editing techniques
• Film production
• Sound design
• Documentary production
This hands on and unique course will see you learn by completing projects, carrying out research and developing your technical skills. You will enjoy developing your knowledge through trips, visits and speakers.

We have state-of-the-art facilities, including a video editing suite and the latest industry standard software and hardware.
Assessment is via presentations, group work and assignments and externally assessed exams. Each unit will be graded at pass, merit, distinction or distinction*, giving you an overall grade at the end of the course.
Grade 4 in GCSE Media Studies and/or Art is desirable.
Note; this course has no certification at the end of the first year of study.
