Course Summary

The VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Nail Technology is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills in; how to provide manicure and pedicure treatments and how to apply and maintain nail enhancements.

To further enhance your practical skills you will have the opportunity to choose from the following practical units; the application of airbrush designs for nails, enhancing nails using electrical files, application and design of nail art, how to display retail stock to promote sales in the salon, how to promote both products and services to salon clients.

Underpinning this qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety practice in a salon environment, how to promote client care and communication in beauty related industries and how maintain personal health and wellbeing when working with nail technology.

  • Apply and maintain nail enhancements

  • Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon

Entry requirements

Our 2 year study programme is a great way of ensuring positive progression towards your career goal. This includes either:

1. Level 2 Beauty Therapy

2. Level 2 Hair and Media Makeup

3. Level 2 Nail Services

4. Level 2 Hairdressing

Attendance is 2 days per week towards the main aim, plus additional days if Maths and English are required (if achieved less than 4 in either).

A work placement is also required to gain valuable experience to support your learning.

There are no entry requirements, other than a genuine interest and ambition to progress into a career within the chosen industry.
