T-LEVEL EDUCATION & EARLY YEARS (FULL-TIME COURSE)

If you want to make a difference, are passionate about shaping the minds of children, and playing a critical role in their development then our Education T-Level gives you an exciting opportunity to gain the practical skills and experience needed to thrive in this rewarding career. Through project based learning and a 9-week industry placement your progression opportunities are endless whether you choose to go straight into employment as a nursery worker, teaching assistant, charity worker or go to university to study Child Psychology, Primary Teaching or Youth work you will have the foundations on which to forge a successful career.

During your college time you will learn the theory that underpins teaching and learning practice. The course is split into two components:

Core

Occupational Specialism; Early Years Educator or Teaching Assistance

You will gain knowledge and understanding on educational principles including;

Child development

Safeguarding and wellbeing

Behaviour

Designing a curriculum

Observation and assessment

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

Equality and Diversity

English as an additional language

Parents families and carers

Reflective practice

At your weekly school placement day, you will apply this knowledge and gain practical experience of supporting children’s learning and development by instilling a love of learning and enriching the students’ lives within the classroom and wider school environment specific to your occupation specialism.

Core component

• paper A written examination

• paper B written examination

5 grade 4 GCSE’s must include Maths and English Language.

Students who achieve this qualification could progress to the following, depending on their chosen OS:

• employment:

o early years educator

o education technician

o primary/secondary/tertiary teaching and support assistant

o learning mentor

o student engagement officer

• higher education
