Course Summary
This qualification suits learners who are curious about how scientific principles can be used to improve sporting performance, support rehabilitation, and maximise an athlete’s capabilities. Throughout the programme, you’ll study a mix of theory-based content and hands‑on practical work, giving you the knowledge and applied skills needed to move towards your chosen career path. You’ll also build strong research and study skills, which are especially valuable for anyone planning to continue into Higher Education.
Over two years, the course carries the same value as three A‑Levels and provides a strong platform for university study in areas such as Sports Therapy, Sport and Exercise Science, Coaching and Performance, Sports Teaching, and many other related subjects.
For those aiming to enter the sport or fitness industry directly, the qualification also offers excellent preparation for employment or apprenticeships. Please note: progression into the second year requires students to meet their target grade, maintain the college’s minimum attendance expectations, demonstrate professional behaviour, and receive positive feedback from the teaching team.
