Course Summary
This is a practical based course which uses the knowledge gained in the classroom and then applies it in the sports lab, gym, sports hall and on playing fields.
Altogether you will be studying for one year.
Learning occurs through the completion of vocational assignments with a range of assessments to suit you.
Course Details
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Every learner is assessed using a variety of assessment methods such as practical sessions, presentations, podcasts, tests, assignments, posters, discussions and observations.
All assessment methods are made vocational to different sport and leisure career areas.
Entry requirements
An introductory course suitable for beginners. School leavers should aim for at least 4 GCSEs at grades G or grades 1 or above which should include one of the following – Maths, English, Science, PE or IT.
Applicants will be considered following a satisfactory interview with a tutor.
Your next steps...
If you achieve a Merit or above you may progress onto a Level 2 First Diploma in Sport.
You may also progress onto a Sport Apprenticeship programme or volunteering work with sport and healthy lifestyle initiatives and programmes in the community.
