Course Summary
A Level Mathematics offers students with a good understanding of Mathematics the chance to study it at a higher level. It provides a thorough grounding in the mathematical tools and techniques often needed in the workplace. Techniques covered include algebra, geometry, trigonometry and calculus, which together form the fundamental building-blocks of the subject.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Three written Exams; Paper 1 - 33.3% of A Level, Paper 2 - 33.3% of A Level, Paper 3 - 33.3% of A Level
Entry requirements
5 or more standard GCSE passes or higher (grade 4 or higher) including GCSE Maths and either English Language or English Literature at a grade 4 or above. To study Mathematics at A Level, a student must have achieved a grade 6 or above in GCSE Maths.

Students with an A Level in Mathematics earn on average 10% more than those with other A Levels. It is a well-respected and sought-after A Level which will open many doors to future careers, such as Finance, Engineering, Market Research and Computing. Many Arts students also enjoy Mathematics A Level. Product Design, Architecture and Music all have mathematical elements to them.
