Hair & Beauty - Level 1 Diploma Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy Skills (VRQ)

This course offers a basic introduction to Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy. The course is ideal if you have not achieved the required GCSE passes for the Level 2 VRQ Diploma in Hairdressing or Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy.

Design a retail display area

Face Painting

Nail art

Hand and nail care

make-up application

Blow dry hair

Winding skills

Shampoo and condition hair

Plaiting hair

Colour hair using temporary hair colour

Create a hair and beauty image using colour

You will be assessed not only in aspects of Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy, both practical and theory. Your punctuality and reliability will also be assessed.

Assessments are completed in and electronic portfolio.

3 GCSEs at Grade 9-1.

Progression on to the Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing or Beauty Therapy from this programme is subject to successful completion of the Level 1 Diploma, evidence of progression in English and Maths, with a successful interview and reference.
