This programme is designed to equip learners with the knowledge required at all levels to start your career as a Make-up Artist. It offers an exciting range of units for you to study in our modern well-equipped salons, supported by our team of highly skilled, highly qualified tutors. This course will assist learners with confidence, communication skills and prepare them for working life.

Course Details

What you will study

• Principles of working in the make-up industry

• Anatomy and physiology for make-up artists

• Principles of researching, developing and showcasing Designs

• The art of applying make-up

• Hair Artistry

• Creative make-up artistry

How will it be delivered and assessed?

You will have a range of practical & theoretical assessments to complete dependent on the level and type of qualification being studied. You may also be required to produce a portfolio of evidence.

Entry requirements

Level 2 Technical Certificate in Make-up Artistry

5 GCSEs at grade 9-4 including English or maths

OR

Relevant Level 2 Diploma plus GCSE English and maths at grade 4

Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Media Make-up Artistry (subject to availability)

Level 2 Make-up qualification plus English and maths at grade 4


Your next steps...

Further study

On successful completion and with the required English and maths grades you can progress through the levels.

However, Level 3 will progress into industry or Higher Education.


Career Opportunities

This qualification may lead directly into employment as a photographic make-up artist, editorial make-up artist, TV make-up artist, video make-up artist, freelance make-up artist, specialist bridal make-up artist, working in health care (camouflage make-up), retail or beauty consultancy.
