Course Summary
This study programme will provide you with the essential skills required to enable personal development in preparation for life, learning and employment.
Course Details
Your course will include:
Tutorials – Weekly mentor-led sessions and group discussions.
Skills for progression – Developing skills including working as a team, resilience, communication, developing a positive outlook as well as support with filling in application forms, creating a CV and building self-confidence.
Maths and English – Functional Skills or GCSEs at the right level for you.
Vocational option – You will have the opportunity to get hands-on and try out other subject areas in College such as: Animal Care, Catering, Childcare and Health, Digital Industries, eSports, Games, Hair and Beauty, Horticulture, Multi-trade (Construction and Engineering), Performing Arts and Public Services.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Mostly by assessment but some learners may take examinations in English and maths.
Entry requirements
You must be 16-18 years of age (or 19-25 with an Educational Health Care Plan).
Some 14-16 year olds may also be able to join the course.
Your next steps...
Many students go onto work towards a higher level qualification and can join other courses at Level 1 or Level 2.
