Course Summary
Drama and Theatre Studies is an exciting, heavily practical based course. This is an extremely rigorous syllabus and students will need to rise to the challenge as they physically explore a large number of contrasting theatre styles, performing both scripted and original devised theatre for practical examination. Students are also required to study the theoretical aspects of theatre and will apply this knowledge in a final written exam paper in Year 13.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
One written Exam and Two Practical Performances; Paper 1 - 40%, Practical performance 30% each
Entry requirements
5 or more standard GCSE passes or higher (grade 4 or higher) including GCSE Maths and either English Language or English Literature at a grade 4 or above. If a student is applying for a course in a subject that they have studied at GCSE it is expected that a student would have achieved at least a standard pass (grade 4) in this subject.
Your next steps...
