Course Summary

This program of study is for you if you are a 16–19-year-old learner looking for progression having successfully completed a Level 2 Site Carpentry Study Program who wishes to work as a carpenter in the industry. The program is designed to deliver a high level of occupational skills and provide a platform from which to progress through further learning or into employment. This vocational route at level 3 is a vital step towards becoming a competent site carpenter.

Course Details

This program of study allows you to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in Site Carpentry.

It covers the following skills:

• Carry out first fix flooring and roofing

• Carry out second fixing operations

• Carry out first fix roofing and stairs

• Carry out second fixing double doors and mouldings

• Set up and use fixed and transportable machinery

Entry requirements

This course requires 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above to include English at Grade 4 or above and Maths at Grade 4 or above.

Level 2 Diploma/Technical Certificate Site Carpentry is also required.

Within the first six weeks on program, you will be assessed in relation to behaviour, attendance and progress.
