Course Summary

If you are interested in a career in the motorcycle industry, perhaps as a specialist in that field, this study programme will give you an introduction to both its practical and theoretical aspects. You will work in our well-equipped, modern workshop, practising your skills on our stock of motorcycles of different types - scooters, off-road bikes, touring bikes and sports bikes.

What you will study

This study programme will cover a range of the topics and units at each level, some of which are listed below:

You will study Health & Safety as a mandatory unit plus:

Level 1 Award or Diploma in Motorcycle Studies

• Correct use of tools and equipment

• Basic servicing

• Preparation for riding and use

How will it be delivered and assessed?

You’ll be assessed continually through practical workshop tasks and compilation of a portfolio of evidence of tasks completed, plus oral and written tests.

3 GCSEs at grade 9-1

Further study

On successful completion and with the required English and maths grades you can progress through the levels.

Progress to Level 3 may be available and will includes diagnosis and rectification of complex faults, and overhaul of units fitted to motorcycles at Diploma level. Alternatively you may wish to do a level 3 apprenticeship.
