The start date of the course is flexible. You will need to meet with your assessor approximately every 4-6 weeks. The meetings with your assessor will be a combination of virtual teams meetings and workplace visits.

These fees relate to 2023/24 £2,573 Additional costs will be incurred where students exceed the 12 months duration. If you are aged between 19 to 23 and you have not already achieved a full level 3 (or above) qualification, funding may be able available towards the cost of the course. Funding may also be available to employers wishing to upskill their workforce through this qualification. Course Summary

The ILM Level 3 Diploma in Management allows practising or potential first line managers to develop their existing management skills and gain the knowledge, skills, and understanding required to demonstrate their occupational competence.

Course Details

Students will study five mandatory units:

Manage Personal Performance and Development

Manage Team Performance

Principles of Leadership and Management

Principles of People Management

Principles of Business.

Students can then choose to study other topics relevant to their work role from a diverse range of optional units.


How will it be delivered and assessed?

Competency units will be assessed via the collation of a portfolio of evidence to meet assessment criteria. Evidence could include reflective accounts, professional discussions, witness testimonies, photographs, and work product evidence such as minutes, reports, emails, and procedures.

Knowledge units are assessed via written assignments and professional discussion.


Entry requirements

English and Maths at Level 2 (Level 2 FS or GCSE Grade C or above / 4 or above).

Where the applicant does not meet the course entry requirements - Level 2 or GCSE qualification at grade C/4 or above in maths and/or English, entry will be considered on successful completion of the Introduction to Business Course Level 1.

You must be employed in a management role at the appropriate level to enable you to provide evidence of competency in the units identified above. An initial assessment with an assessor will determine your suitability for the course.

Successful candidates at Level 3 may progress on to a higher level study in leadership and management or another related occupational area. This is subject to students meeting appropriate national occupational standards.
