Course Summary

The role covers a wide range of common and job specific skills sets that can be transferred across the manufacturing engineering industry sectors during the course of their careers. Dependent on the sector that they are employed in there may be subtle differences in terms of composition and application of the job role specific skills and knowledge they will require, however the core skills and knowledge will be the same regardless of the sector/area they work in.

Occupational roles for this standard are split into the following areas:

• Maintenance

• Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering

• Electrical and Electronic Engineering

• Fabrication/Weld

Course Details

On this programme you will study towards one of the available pathways.

Depending on your job role, you will study a variety of units in Level 2 diploma/certificate in practical skills and off the job technical certificate

The apprentice will have a depth and breadth of English and mathematics that allow them to operate successfully within their role. This may be met through entry criteria determined by the employer or qualifications and training within the apprenticeship. However, on completion all apprentices will have minimum

Level 1 qualifications in English and mathematics.


How will it be delivered and assessed?

There will be continuous assessment of both your practical skills and theoretical knowledge.


Entry requirements

Candidates must have an employer willing to support the requirements of the apprenticeship standard.

Individual employers will set the selection criteria for their apprentices.

Most candidates will have a minimum of Entry 3 in Maths and English, If you do not have these, we can assess your current level of Literacy/numeracy.
