A-Level Biology extends the learning you have already done at GCSE by developing your understanding of the subject. It will give you the skills to make connections and associations with all living things around you. Being such a broad topic, you are bound to find a specific area of interest, and it opens the door to a fantastic range of interesting careers.
The specific module study within this course will see you look at:
- Biological Molecules.
- Organisms exchange substances with their environment.
- Genetic information, variation and relationships between organisms.
As with all of our A Level courses Biology will be delivered in 6 hours per week or teaching time. It is strongly suggested that you spend an additional 3-4 hours per week of independent work and research towards this qualification.
Grade 6 in two single science GCSEs (including biology) or grade 66 in GCSE Combined Science. A grade 6 in Maths and grade 5 in English would also be advantageous.
You can access careers in the Medical professions, environmental roles and research.
