Our BTEC Level 3 Creative Media (Digital Film and Video) qualification is available as a number of options. Your choice will depend on your future career plans.

This course will open up a world of opportunity for you. With options to specialise in areas such as editing or single camera techniques, you can choose a specialism relating to your chosen career.
BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media is a three A Level equivalent. This is a full time study programme and is therefore ideal if you have decided on a career or degree in the media industry. You will cover all of the topics offered by our 1 and 2 A Level equivalent courses along with a number of additional units. Work experience enhances your future, and enables you to develop work-related skills.
Your topics will see you preparing for further study or employment and give you a wide and comprehensive understanding of the creative industries, and develop the skills you need to succeed. Topics will include:
• Video editing techniques
• Film production
• Sound design
• Documentary production
• Deepen your understanding of the process behind broadcasting commissioning.
• Develop your technical skills and prepare you for your next steps.
This hands on and unique course will see you learn by completing projects, carrying out research and developing your technical skills. You will enjoy developing your knowledge through trips, visits and speakers.

We have state-of-the-art facilities, including a video editing suite and the latest industry standard software and hardware.
Assessment is via presentations, group work and assignments and externally assessed exams. Each unit will be graded at pass, merit, distinction or distinction*, giving you an overall grade at the end of the course.
Grade 4 in GCSE Media Studies and/or Art is desirable. General entry criteria also applies. This is available on our website.
