Under the direction of our qualified teachers, you will see your thoughts stretched and challenged. Sociology sees you exploring some controversial topics, and you are likely to continue thinking outside of the classroom!
You will debate key sociological issues such as poverty, crime and social conflict and you may find you change your views on the world around you.
Trips and visits will extend your knowledge and experience. These have included a trip to Prison, a visit to London and a tour of religious institutions in Huddersfield. You could also get involved as a Sociology Ambassador, which is an ideal way to grow your skills to prepare you for working with others from all walks of life.

Sociology is a subject linking to a wide range of careers and degrees. You could progress to careers in areas such as Social Work, Law, Teaching and Policing. It also supports your degree apprenticeship options.
