What you will study

Year One

Starting with the language of the WEB, HTML, you will learn how to design and code semantically written web pages using nothing but a simple code editor.  You will learn how to layout your site content using up to date, modern CSS3 techniques, before learning how to add interactivity using a much sought-after skill, JavaScript.

For each project, you will identify client needs, plan, research, develop and implement solutions that meet the needs of a range of client briefs.

You will examine and implement UX/UI designs, graphic design, logo development and gain a solid basis for branding.

You will work on live client briefs, where applicable, and learn other valuable transferable skills such as:
• Project Management
• Interpersonal skills
• Time management
• Presentation techniques
• Research skills
• Reflective practices

Year Two

You will take what you learnt in year one to extend your skills to back end development learning PHP, CMS and eCommerce to create fully dynamic websites.


How will it be delivered?

You will be assessed through a series of practical and academic assignments that count towards your final grade. Your tutor will provide you with regular developmental feedback and maintain a record of assessment.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs 9-4, including English and maths


4 GCSEs 9-4 and Level 2 in either English or maths or grade 3 or Level 1 in the other


Level 2 Diploma or equivalent at Merit grade, plus GCSE English or maths ar grade 4 plus Level 1 or Level 2 English or maths
