If you are starting on a career in the light or heavy vehicle industry, this programme will enable you to learn as you earn. You will study for valuable City & Guilds vocational qualifications and Diplomas in body repair and you will also have the chance to brush up your Functional Skills in ICT, English and Maths.
Body repair techniques, paintwork preparation, health and safety and working with others.
Fitting of body panels or panel sections by means of welding or bonding including bodywork preparation.
Removing and replacing mechanical components to gain access to body repair (wheel alignment etc) and also covered in conjunction with the repair and manufacture of body components and sections.
Underpinning knowledge will be demonstrated through the successful completion of a City & Guilds Diploma.
Functional Skills in ICT, English and Maths will be studied to Level 1.
Maths and English (and sometimes IT) are key elements of apprenticeship programmes and if you do not already have a GCSE at grade A*-C (or new grade 9-4) in these subjects you will be required to study Functional Skills at the appropriate levels.Skills in Maths and English will support your apprenticeship programme, assisting you with assignment writing, research, job applications, presentations, managing your own finances and interpretation of data, to mention just a few.
